Cheenie achieved a double distinction star in BTEC Level 3 Health & Social Care and a C in A-Level Biology. She started at St Charles on a STEP programme, beginning with her GCSEs at Level 1. She is going on to the University of Surrey to study Sociology and hopes to become a teacher once she graduates.
I would definitely recommend St Charles to anyone who is thinking of coming here because the staff are really good and helpful. It is a good learning environment with great facilities and there are lots of activities that you can join in with and make new friends, gain new experiences and have fun.
I love how there are loads of opportunities for students to discover themselves and improve their confidence. For example, I became very involved in the Chaplaincy activities and went on trips to Kintbury and Lourdes. I was a member of the Charity Committee, which was a real eye-opener for seeing how other people experience things. I worked as a library assistant in the College Library and participated in Age UK classes - helping older people learn how to use computers and the Internet. I went on a trip to New York and I have made lots of new friends during my time here.
St Charles really helped me come out of my comfort zone and helped improve my confidence. St Charles gives a sense of belonging to students. It's been like a second home to me.
