Jack Petchey Award Winner April 2016

Congratulations to Ghazal Mottaghi!

Ghazal has been nominated for her real can do and positive attitude in everything she does and her perseverance and determination with her studies and cross-college activities despite her visual impairment. She NEVER lets her disability get in the way.

Her BTEC ICT teachers commend her committed and independent approach and her tutors applaud her enthusiasm and dedication to her tutor group representative role as well as her helpful approach to others. This is also echoed by the Chaplain, who says she is a fantastic representative.

She is the first to participate in everything and was involved in leadership training at the start of the year. She did a sponsored silence  and  baked cakes and ran a bake sale almost single- handed  during charities week this year raising lots of money, She was actively involved in the cross-college Christmas drama production and played her part with energy, precision and pride. She has also helped organise a number of activities in departments.

Ghazal always tries her best always and never gives up. She is a confident, articulate and amicable young woman who wants to pursue performing arts in the future.
