Elvie is a Jack Petchey Community Award winner!

Well done to Elvie who has just been awarded a Jack Petchey Community award. Elvie was chosen from over 400 nominations so very impressive indeed! She will now receive £50 from the Jack Petchey Foundation to spend as she pleases! Elvie always went the extra mile (https://www.stcharles.ac.uk/206/news-blog/post/130/a-big-shout-out-to-the-jack-petchey-winners-at-st-charles-january-to-june-2020 - Jack Petchey, February 2020 Winner) and is currently studying a BA Airline and Airport management degree at the University of West London. We wish her every success with her degree and future. Please keep in touch!

Elvie said, “Dear Ms Mc Hugh, thank you for the amazing opportunity and nominating me for Jack Petchey in the first place! I feel really proud. I will use this money from the community award to donate to Charity for the typhoon victims in the Philippines. This money will be a big help!”

Dear Elvie,

Congratulations on winning a Jack Petchey’s Community Award!

I am so proud of the way young people are supporting our community as we pass through this Coronavirus crisis. It was very uplifting to read about the volunteer work you have been doing to support immigrants struggling in these difficult times.

You are having such a positive impact by ‘going the extra mile’ in these difficult times. I think it is important that we all ‘give back’ to society and I am very proud that you are a living example of that.

I hope that other young people are inspired by you and will go on to help others in their local area too.

I want to say thank you and well done – you can be very proud of yourself!

Best wishes,

Sir Jack Petchey CBE
