Congratulations to Jadesola Sholaja!
Jadesola studies L3 Business Studies and A2 English Literature. She is a model student who is a great ambassador for the college. She has been an instrumental part of the College’s College Council for the past two years. She was an extremely efficient secretary last year and this year she was very active ensuring students’ requests for improvement to the college campus were actioned through liaison with senior management.
She also led on many successful fundraising charity events and she helped organise the college end of year prom which was held on 28/6/16. In addition she gave freely of her time to help out at numerous other college events like open evenings and enrolment.
She voluntarily helped out with admin tasks in the college and organised and completed a work experience for herself in a law firm in Nigeria in the summer.
In what free time she has, she is part of Young Labour and has assisted them with their campaigning. All of this is on top of being a carer for her mum. What great stamina and energy this young woman has!
Jadesola said “I feel happy to have been given this award; it means a lot to me. I wasn't expecting it and it was a nice surprise before I go off to university”.
Jade split her award money between the Sociology Department (purchased a heavy duty hole punch) and the Business Department (2 class packs of 30 calculators) in College.
