Health & Social Care at St Charles
Cheenie started at St Charles on a Level 2 programme and progressed on to study for a BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care, in which she achieved top grades, and A level Biology.
Alongside her studies Cheenie was actively involved with the Chaplaincy and Charity Committees, was a tutor rep, went on retreat to Kintbury, participated in a pilgrimage to Lourdes, volunteered as a library assistant, and regularly attended the Book Group. Cheenie said that these opportunities offered by St Charles, in addition to her studies, really helped to build her self-confidence and inspire her to succeed. In addition, she recalls that it gave her the opportunity to meets lots of new friends.
Cheenie remembers the teachers as being supportive, caring, and encouraging students to achieve their potential. She cites her personal tutor’s assistance with her university application and the help offered by the College’s Careers Advisor.
She is in her final year of studying Sociology as an undergraduate and has ambitions to study for a PGCE and maybe become a teacher. We wish Cheenie well for future success at university and beyond.
