Christmas Cheer Caught on Camera at St Charles

After an extremely long first half term, St Charles’ Learning Support team of elves transformed the department into a magical and enchanted Christmas Wonderland on Wednesday 19th December 2018. Yuletide cheer echoed through the air as over 40 students entered the festal extravaganza.

Under the careful eye of Ms Coyne, Tanya Shaw and Barbod Habibazarian, who study Level 2 Art and Design, turned the kitchen area in the Manning Building into a sparkling and colourful venue, truly embodying the Christmas spirit.

In preparation for the event, students honed in on their creative genius alongside LSAs, Rashida, Hanife, Shamime, Archana and Denice to help create their very own innovative and original Photo Booth. The experience was taken to new heights this year with the wide range of whacky festive props. The booth proved to be a big hit on the day, capturing the joyful and festive atmosphere on camera for nostalgia!

Dressed in festive outfits students feasted on everyone’s favourite food, Pizza, which arrived by sleigh all the way from Ladbroke Grove in a timely fashion, courtesy of Ms. Lancaster, Ms Young and Mr Gyakyi!  Happy and cheerful  students complimented the friendly and efficient service provided by Ms. Mbambe and Ms Cotter as everyone got stuck in!

L2 Travel and Tourism student Miracle Luke stated ‘This was a fun way to finish the term because I got to speak to my friends about what we were looking forward to doing over the Christmas break and I also won a prize at the raffle which was very exciting’. Daniyal Shah said he was pleased with his voucher prize also and Junior Dayce expressed ‘It was a really lovely get together’.

All present to celebrate the festivities expressed that they were extremely grateful for the event as it allowed them to socialise with their friends, form new friendships and enjoy the activities provided for them. Food, prizes, music, selfies were all part of the fun and frolics; what more could you ask for to round off the term?

The Learning Support Department would like to thank all the students who made this a very special occasion and we would love to wish everyone a Happy and healthy New Year.
