Football: St Charles Secure the AoC/ECFA London League Title
St Charles' 1st XI football team secured their third trophy of the season by beating Uxbridge college 8-1 on Wednesday, thus securing the AoC/ECFA London league title.
Despite missing goalkeeper Seydou Traore and defender Adam Hamdi, the boys put in another hard-working and determined display to secure a win and keep St Charles unbeaten in the league.
Despite playing against the wind, St Charles went into half time 2-0 up thanks to goals from Blair Kamga and Meron Abraham. The second half was much easier and, despite rotating the team, St Charles scored two early goals through captain Sean Ndinga-Basaye and Jace Osinaike. Uxbridge did pull a goal back but this just served to spur St Charles on and, twelve seconds later, excellent work from Jose Dougan saw him unselfishly tee up Bilal Bihi for goal number five. Another from top scorer Abrahams, plus good strikes from Osee Kilunga and man of the match Steliou Contonicola, completed the scoring.
Playing Squad: Daishain Moise, Joe Agunloye, Jhmali Espirit, Sean Ndinga-Basaye, Josh Dumbuya, Glenn Annang, Blair Kamga, Jose Dougan, Hamid Noori, Bilal Bihi, Meron Abraham, Steliou Contonicola, Osee Kilunga, Abdul Gassaman.
We now look to complete the quadruple on Friday evening where we take on Campion School, who are chasing a treble of their own.
