St Charles College Bursary


In order to support students who may experience financial difficulty with meeting associated costs with learning, St Charles College, is dedicated to giving students as much financial and practical support as possible.

There are 2 types of 16 to 19 bursaries:

• For defined vulnerable groups of up to £1200 a year

• Discretionary bursary for eligible students of up to £500 a year Financial assessments will be carried out for each student to establish their household income.

Payments are only made if weekly attendance requirements are met. Please refer to our website for further information.



Students that successfully apply for the College Bursary and whose parent/guardian/carer(s) are in receipt of selected Department for Work & Pensions benefits (list available on our website), or Inland Revenue Tax Credit (with the exception of Working Tax Credit, which is not eligible), may also qualify for Free College meals. Students must also be aged between 16 and 18 at the end of August in the year they start at St Charles. Students aged 19 or over are only eligible if they are continuing on a study programme they began aged 16 to 18, or have an EHCP.
