We are delighted to announce that, St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include:
  • Our enrichment programme that includes a wide range of recreational activities that the students can engage with during break times and free periods. Such as basketball, football, dodgeball, badminton, and table tennis. Students also have access to the fitness suite. Additionally, there are extra-curricular clubs, including football and netball which compete in local competitions.
  • Offering activities that are mixed ability and fun, as well as competitive fixtures. We also ensure that all sessions are inclusive of young people with higher needs.
  • Embedding sport activities within the Vocational Course students study, so that young people could plan and deliver activities in local primary and secondary schools, and within the local community, as part of their programme of study.
  • Hosting Inter competitions for the local secondaries on our site.
With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

A special thanks to RBK&C Sports coordination team and the London Sports Trust for their support.

We look forward to applying once again in 2026!
