September 2025 – Kimberly Pacunana
Kimberly is indeed a very worthy recipient of the Jack Petchey award. An A Level student of Business, Economics and English Language and Literature here at St. Charles, she has demonstrated total commitment to her studies and to the local community. Her Business teachers describe her as a hardworking student who always goes above and beyond. With a 100% attendance record, Kimberly has proven herself to be a conscientious and diligent student in the subject and this is replicated across all her studies. Her Economics teachers really appreciated her help promoting the Department at college open events as a student ambassador, where she was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She has stood out as a mature and ambitious young person as evidenced by her mature approach when on workplace/industry visits such as her brilliant attitude on a recent Women in Finance Workshop run by Deloitte.
The English Department echo the above and strongly support her nomination, stating Kimberly’s work ethos is exemplary and that she is unfailingly cheerful and acts as a positive role model for her peers with her selfless outlook and excellent attitude to learning and her support of college initiatives.

Kimberly is a great leader in service both in and out of the classroom. She is always devoting her time to help her peers with their learning and to the wider college community. Outside of her studies, Kimberly, consistently has lived out the college’s ethos of leadership in service, showing real leadership skills. She is an active participant in the College’s fundraising committee as part of the college’s enrichment provision. A reliable student, Mr Twist, the College Principal, who oversees the committee states, “Kimberley is fantastic.” She’s taken a lead role in the committee, communicating well with all parties involved, helping raise over £3,000.00 to date for charitable causes at home and abroad. Her peers on the committee cite her as really deserving of the award as she has consistently driven the fundraising, organising/running a tuck shop, quiz nights etc and consistently promoting the work and aims of the committee quietly and efficiently.
Well done Kimberly and we are so grateful for all your efforts and energy! Kimberly is looking to donate her £300.00 to support the College’s continued fundraising efforts to support students with a trip abroad. Lourdes and Uganda are in the pipeline. We feel Kimberly is destined for a bright future and we look forward to following her journey at a top university of her choice next year.
