Staff vs Students Football 30/01/26

Last Friday saw the highly anticipated staff vs students 6 a side football match. This pitted a student all star team (the best performing players from our inter hall football cup) vs a crack team of staff picked by the player management duo of Mr Alawiye and Mr Hall.

The game draw a healthy crowd which only added to the atmosphere and spectacle it become. An early penalty from Hussain Ali game the students an early lead but goals from Mr Collard and Mr Alawiye turned the tables and had the staff dreaming of a famous win and bragging rights. The students clawed their way back into the game and equalized just before half time through a neat Chase Hunte Jones finish. 

The second half ebbed and flowed with Soulaiman Antifit putting the students back in front, before the staff quickly responded through a bullet header from Ade Adelaja. After this it was the superior fitness of the students that told with goals from Leslie Egwuonwu, Ayub El Haddad and the goal of the match from Hunte-Jones who's mazy run beat 4 players before he cooly finished left footed across Miss Billing and into the far corner.

A big well done to everyone that took part, be that playing or supporting, it was an excellent match, played in the right spirit - with excellent sportsmanship on show throughout.
