St Charles is proud to celebrate the outstanding swimming achievements of Keira Osorio (BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport), a student whose dedication and talent have seen her excel at both national and international levels.

Keira has represented Quindío, Colombia, in numerous national and regional competitions, consistently performing at an elite standard. Her competitive record includes multiple medal finishes across a range of events, underlining her versatility and determination in the pool.

In 2024, Keira delivered an exceptional performance at the Colombian National Championships, finishing 8th in the 400m freestyle, a significant achievement in a highly competitive field. Even more impressively, she is currently ranked as the 3rd best swimmer in Colombia in the 200m butterfly for the 18–20 age category, placing her firmly among the country’s elite athletes.

In recognition of her continued success, Keira has received an invitation to compete at the National Interligas Championships in May 2026, a prestigious event that brings together the best swimmers from across Colombia.

Keira said: Following this success, I feel incredibly proud and grateful for my family, especially my parents, who have supported me along the way. I have always loved swimming and never stopped since the day I started. I knew that I wanted to make nationals so finding out I could swim for my city in Colombia was an experience that I will never forget and a story I will never get tired talking about. Swimming has motivated me from a young age because I love the challenge of constantly improving and pushing my limits. I first started competing when I was nine, and over the years I’ve developed not just physically, but mentally as well with the friends that stayed by me. I have learnt discipline, resilience, and focus through training and competition. Each season has helped me grow, and reaching this level of success feels like the result of years of hard work, dedication, and a genuine passion for the sport. There is so much more to achieve and I’m excited to see what I can do.

Keira’s journey is a testament to hard work, resilience, and ambition, and the St Charles community is delighted to support her as she continues to represent her school and region with distinction.
